Paddling this week
« on: July 07, 2011, 00:31:52 »
Hiyo!

Niall and I and maybe Nuala are free in the afternoons this week and next. The plan is to hit either the boyne or the liffey, with regular or pointy tippy boats, depending on how is interested. Anyhoo, just to get out. Or to something more exciting if the rain repeats itself!

I am heading to clashganey on the barrow tomorrow, should anyone want to come down for a paddle. Leaving home around 12 tomorrow morning. Been ages, this is a short section on the barrow with 3 weirs and a broken weir. Great thing is it's pretty much park and play as you paddle back up a canal to the get out.

Barrow was low, but there was a bit of flow.

Cool stuff!
My recent foray into DIY looks like it's over, so I'll have more time next week!
Interested in flatwater (I'd like to roll a hundred times, it's a training/crazy idea thing -normal roll, offside roll, backdeck roll...) And if the group is ok I'd bring a beginner too :D
