The O'Neil ones are pretty pricey, even with the discount. You can get some much cheaper ones if you shop around a bit.

while they are pretty expensive, they dual thickness makes them much more mobile than other wetsuits you can get, as well as much warmer. still, those are pretty pricey, most are on par with a dry cag which would keep you well toasty!

Woah woah woah!

No matter how good your wetsuit is, it can never do the job of a cag, they do different things!
Wetsuits (especially when coupled with fleeces) keep you warm, but not dry
Cags (especially when coupled with wetsuits and fleeces) keep you warm AND dry

September: wore a 5ml O'Neills wetsuit
October:the first money I spent on kayaking was buying four M&S/Penny's fleeces (warmth increased exponentially)
Christmas: got a dry cag (warmth increased, dryness increased exponentially).

When you're starting out, wetsuits are great (and great to have to use for other sports) but if you're looking to kayak long term, you're definitely going to buy a cag.

Wetsuit  + fleeces  + cag  = warm and dry! 

But the most warmth added per euro spent has to be fleeces, spend a smart €10-12 there first!

Yes. All of Kerry 2009/2010 and one Wicklow trip in first year. The memory of it drives me to never let it happen again and share all my knowledge on keeping warm with the world. Being cold in this day and age is unnecessary, and being cold and wet is a tragedy.

Sorry those are ridiculous prices even with a 40% discount, just checked it out further than the 40% sale section. Wait for aldi to be doing them or one of the shops in dublin may have a sale!
