Polo - Galway Open, June 2-3 - if you're not doing this then why not?

Douchier · May 13, 2012, 18:50:52

There's a pretty awesome looking polo competition on Saturday and Sunday of the June bank holiday weekend.

There'll be about four matches per day ( possibly fewer on the second day, depending on how well the team does) and the matches will all be played on full sized pitches ( so five per side). I haven't been to the Galway one yet, but from the other weekend competitions I've done I can tell you that they're really great fun. You get loads of games at once, so you learn loads. You'll also be bloody shattered by the end of it! And rolling subs...they're great!

It would be great if we could maybe send two teams down, with maybe 8 on each team.

It's the same weekend as Easkey, but sure we can just head up there after..

Come warriors of UCD, who's interested?

You folks aren't signing up quickly enough, so here's some encouragement

Interested so far...

Lorcan (probably)

(Thank-you Maryanne for fixing the picture size)

Sounds like it could be polo by day and Easkey by night...best of both worlds!

Douchier · May 14, 2012, 21:54:18

Come-on guys!

Loads of polo all at once! It'll be great crack. Also Galway is going to be absolutely buzzing that weekend.

Whaddya say?

DervM · May 14, 2012, 21:56:29

I'm really tempted, but if I did I wouldn't be going up to Easkey, and if I'm organising a chemical toilet then I should probably be there...

Douchier · May 14, 2012, 21:57:34

Ha! Excellent reasoning!

Ross · May 14, 2012, 22:56:41

Yeah, I'm up for it, I might have to leave early Sunday however, I'll know soon enough

Douchier · May 14, 2012, 23:06:01

Deadly, it'll probably finish a little earlier on the Sunday anyway.

Chunderdragon · May 15, 2012, 08:26:19

gwan the polo then! what would ye have done without me

Douchier · May 15, 2012, 21:37:30

G'wan, anyone else?

Bill C · May 15, 2012, 23:43:58

I will wave a solitary leaf of Pak-Choi in the air every day of the competition in support and solidarity with the UCD polo team. This will be my only contribution.
