Liffey trip rescue
Bill C:
The issue with the river right eddy at the bottom of Wrens is it's really boily and unstable and hell. Sitting static there is difficult. But I guess I don't have any better suggestion, save maybe the eddy at the centre of the river left wall just after the hole to barge in to the big eddy river left. But for that to work participants need to be sent down the very far left of the left wall so that the rescue doesn't get in their way.
Just to reiterate for Lucan weir: the eddy on river left under the bridge is the point of no return: if you haven't managed to get the boat into the eddy at that point then the next eddy isn't for another 30m downstream river left then 10m after river right after a stone wall. I've yet to succeedd in towing a boat back up to the weir from there against the current, and once had to trespass my way through the back of the industrial park river left, scaling walls with boats and such.
