Pool Demonstrations
« on: September 13, 2013, 10:40:23 »
Ok guys!

As you all know (or at least should do, if Diarmuid did his job right  ;)) the Sports Expo is on next week from Monday to Thursday.  As well as needing a hand at the stand, we've also managed to get some pool time during the day to do demonstrations!

We have the pool from 12.30 to 1.30 everyday, and need to put on a good show!!!

My carbon playboat is available for pool use, if its allowed. Currently the boat is in Ranelagh.

One of the ideas last night was to have a few non-scary paddling video playing upstairs in the bar after the pool sessions next week.

I agree...demonstration will be pointless without playboats...peter suggested at lunch todat that we could offer some freshers to come try out kayaking during the demo hour?

I've been on to Adrian, we might have a few demo boats, gonna check them out in the morning :)

And I'm not sure if we can do that?

If you can get playboats in, class!

If not, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. 95% of freshers haven't paddled before and seeing people dip turning, rolling and flying about will be impressive anyway. If they came in and saw only people looping or similar (not that that's likely) they might feel intimidated or think it looks too hard to try.

I know what you mean!   Play boats are probably more so for the paddlers entertainment :P  shiny new things to attract them to the pool :D
