Go big or go home - spillway time

<< < (2/3) > >>

Garbhan:
I thought that the right line on the upper looked mad because of an undercut half way down into the middle bit which looks like a bad place to get pinned and did you look at the tunnel, from google maps it looks pretty long.

Peter O'Sullivan:
No under cuts any where. Are you thinking of the weir above the upper lake rather than the spillway below the upper lake?

Tunnel was a series of short tunnels, probably best to portage them.

Garbhan:
No sorry I was looking at this photo and originally thought the shadow was an undercut but it's not https://ssl.panoramio.com/photo/3995439

Garbhan:
Em, so I just realised the scale of this, I hadn't realised just how big this is until I saw the steps in these photos http://builtdublin.com/spillway-and-outlet-tower-upper-reservoir-bohernabreena-waterworks-dublin-24/
I'm still up for it, but not without an optimal level and some good scouting.

Douchier:
That is quite big alright

Not quite related, but that reservoir would make an excellent sprint course.
