Hi

The Club trip organiser/leader was discussed at the tdu today. We have a draft proposal which we are working on, currently it is 2 day training with loggin hours and an assessment focused soley on running trips on a voluntary basis.

Kieran, what kind of logging timeline are we talking about here? 10 hours or more?

The current suggestion is 25 hours with either an instructor or a qualified (whatever the hell we will call this person) I'm going to argue that they need to do x number of trips showing they can organise them, set up rescue and guide a group of people

How different is it to the Level 2 so? Is there any skills in that that aren't in the Level 2? I'd imagine moving water rescue and stuff, but would it be enough to say, have a Level 4 Skills and a Level 2 instructor?

I have put no thought into this by the way

I really like the idea. But I do not know how that would help the club out when it's a very similar timeline to instructorship (given that we have about 8 people active in the club who did instructor courses and haven't continued with it much).

I don't like instructing, but I have no problem leading a trip, so people like me might be able to slot in there?

And for instructing it's level 2 then three.

Is this river trip leader going to have access to lead a group on g3 water straight after away or will there be a respective level for g2 water you'll have to do first
