Paddle fit will be a simple circuit gym for everyone and anyone to attend. It will build on general fitness and strength but I've aimed it more towards canoeing related movements. The exercises also include some shoulder prehab
We will have it on the Friday, as 1 - the team gym is pretty quiet and 2 - if you come to the session than you've no excuse not to come to the river trip the next day
. The minimum we can have for the circuit to work is 5 and the maximum we can have is really 15.
You'll need your general working out gear. This would also include a shoddy (or not so shoddy) towel that you can sweat on 😜. And water water water 😊. Going into the gym then you should have: gym towel, gym gear including runners, water and your student card. In your bag: phone (don't need it in the gym
), shower gear (if you plan on showering there) and like piece of fruit or something small (especially if you have no plan to get something substantial in you within the next half hour)
Ideally you should be eating something relatively soon after the session. This is for your body's recovery
Not having anything after the gym could mean you wasted the session. Generally something with protein for muscle reparation and carbs for energy replacement.
Anyway put your name down for interest and tell me which times for future Fridays would suit you best. This Friday the

7:30pm. Make sure to be there
on time. We will start without you
. Meet at the squash courts at 7:15 and we'll head in at 20 past seven. If it's your first time make sure to be there on time. People heading in at 20 past should do their own warm up to be ready for the gym by half past. New people will be shown through the exercises during this time.
