Sea kayaking to small islands further away

(1/3) > >>

Peter O'Sullivan:
So the idea was to kayak out to some small island and possibly camp on one and paddle back the next day. I think we should start small and build up as none of us have any proper training. Anyone feel like doing a navigation course? Given my navigation skills on dry land someone should probably do some training before I get us all lost at sea.

So my suggestions area

Lambay Island

Skerries, Rockabill lighthouse

Inisheer or Innismaan.

Just ordered this book this morning.

Blake might help us with a nav course since he is doing his level 3 sea kayak instructor as is Dave O'Reily I believe.

Blake would be amiable to run one of these courses. Need a few people to run one, useful set of skills for any of us to have.
