Liffey Descent 2019 (Sat September 14th)
« on: May 02, 2019, 16:17:24 »
The Liffey Descent will be taking place on Saturday September 14th this year. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's a 30km race from Straffan in Kildare to Islandbridge with 10 weirs and 1 portage. A good few people from the club take part each year, it's a great challenge and good craic sure.

Race classes include K1 A, B, and C(GP boats- the plastic boats the club uses for varsities LD), K2 and Open Canoes Singles, Doubles and Triples (so you can get a wee group to race together for the craic).

Entry closes Friday 6th September and costs €60pp.

More info here https://liffeydescent.ie/

Ross and Greg will be training on the canal every Wednesday this summer, BH at 18:30. Just send Ross a message if you want to join. Good practice for Varsities Long Distance anyways  ;)

Yup! Usually do 6km or so, which is only less than an hour of paddling, depending on the boat you take
