Actually, while it's up there, it's probably worth pointing out that William Nealy's books on Boatin' are probably some of the best instructional books you can get.  (The cartoon is from one of his books)

If anyone is interested in figuring out why they always capsize just after the bend in the river, or why you shouldn't hold onto trees, "Kayak" by William Nealy should be on your Christmas pressie list.

William Nealys, books should be manditory reading. I haven't seen any of his books in a long time, but back in the day, i think i learned more from his books than from any other source. so, go!! find! read! EnjoY! leaRn! it makes a lot more sense than the mad ramblings that pass for instruction around here.

Thats alright,  was getting worried there, was about to stick up a bit of a rant. 

Central America is going great, running on pig fat, heated to turn liquid at the moment.  Its great smells like breakfast all day!!  In costa rica at the moment, surfing it up on the west coast.

Hope all is well back home.  How´s this captaincy business treatin ya?
