Hey hey hey hey,

FRESHER'S WEEKEND is this weekend
It costs 60 euro
We're going to Carlow

The bus is leaving at six, on Friday from the Eng carpark.
We're staying in the Otterholt Hostel on the Kilkenny Road, opposite Carlow IT.

We're gonna have a few sociable drinks on Friday, in the hostel and then go into town.

We're going boating all day Saturday - bring synthetic clothing or fleeces to wear on the river and something to put on your feet, old runners or rugby socks. You should also bring a bar of chocolate to eat on the river or afterwards.

We're having a big hooley on Saturday night - it's fancy dress, you must have a costume. We'll be priming the night in the hostel and then painting the town red.


We're going boating half day Sunday and then heading back to Dublin, arriving around nine o'clock.

What you sixty euro pays for:
Bus to Carlow and all transport to and from the rivers over the weekend. Taxi's to and from the hostel are not included!
Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday.
Accomodation for the weekend.
Boating both days - equipment and instructors.
There'll be some free booze too. YaaY!


You can pay:
at the board any day this week
at the pool session on Thursday
by contacting any of the committee members
if you haven't paid by Friday, you might be able to pay on the bus if there's any places left.

What to bring:
a sleeping bag
a thermarest - if you want to sleep on the floor
a warm jumper and jacket
synthetic layers for padlding
old runners
money for the pub and the takeaway
some booze for the bus
fancy dress costume
musical instrument
drinking pants
lucky pants
and last but not least, party pants and a big smile!


You should definitely come, it's a great weekend away and probably the best weekend you've had yet.
You get to do your first full river trip, shoot some more weirs and paddle though big bouncy waves. The parties are the stuff of legends; it's really one party, cos it goes on all weekend.

Ok- so far not many people have paid so instead of handing me money down in carlow when i'm too drunk too see let alone account for money- try and bring it to the pool session tonight or give it to me on friday before getting on the bus

Job starts on friday. Going to work through the night and with a bit luck I will be done by sat morning :-\

Is there anyone with a car driving down on saturday who has a space.....please I really want to go.... :'( I would of course chip in for petrol etc...

I know it is last minute so I am not expecting miracles here. I am sure there is a bus/train option that will get me there.
