How fit does one have to be for this? If the answer is not super-fit or something, I like to give it a go.

don't worry Karen, you don't have to be as super fit as me to compete in the long distance. Siobhan's right-one look at me will tell you that I am built for such hardcore sporting activities but not everyone can be as great as me.

I'm all up for a weekend of drinking but somewhere during those two days you'll have to leave the hostel and actually join in on the kayaking festivities.
