Paddling for the girlies!
« on: December 08, 2008, 15:48:51 »
I'm seeing about organising a bit of a training weekend just for us girls in the New Year. We have some fantastic instructors lined up including Kim Siekerman :o, who have agreed to run the course so I just need to know how many people would be interested in doing it and when would suit everyone.

It's looking like a 2 day course, doing some river skills training with some emphasis on rescue and rescue set up, plus maybe a day of freestyle. We'll concentrate on the ways girls tend to paddle differently from guys, with slightly different techniques and problems and such. This should be good also for the varsities, as this is why it was initially proposed, to help build up a stronger female competition. It's going to be fun anyway!

We are aiming it at around level 3 upwards, but this can be tailored up or down depending on who's interested! ;D

So let me know here if you are interested!

I'm definitely interested. I also want to get to any REC3's or Level 4 training organised though, and have downriver training on the 18th of January I think. And live in Limerick.

I'll come if at all feasible.

Awesome!  I was hoping for January myself.

It doesn't matter if you don't actually have your level 3 by then, its more that you're around that level.

Are people working over christmas? Because mid week could work well otherwise.

Any chance of a different weekend?

Any chance you don't go to Barcelona and not demand that everything revolve around you? :o
