Cheap looking online shop
« on: April 30, 2009, 01:32:10 »
http://ewetsuits.com/index.html

Check this out, it looks like pretty good value, or else I just can't convert from pounds... About £12.50-£14 international courier charge though I think.

How much is a drysuit normally?

I really want to get that dry cag, I've been looking around and it seems to have gotten really positive reviews, I wonder if that deck is any good.

What cockpit size should I be looking for?

Alternatively you could go out to Colm in I-Canoe and ask him what the best price he can do is. He'll at least try to match UK pricing and you get a warranty. It can be worth a lot more than the twenty euro you may save, in the long run...

Also check out wetsuitoutlet.com (or possibly .co.uk), They're generally pretty good value.

Sorry just realised, you guys are looking at Lomo. I know nothing about them other then what be heard second/third/fourth hand or even more reliably over the internet.

But at that price, there really would want to be something very wrong with a cag before you'd start complaining.

Any idea on deck sizes though, I think keyhole is the size I'm looking for but I just want to make sure.

Keyhole would fit most club boats, the same as most boats really.

I think I'm right in saying that most boats have keyhole cockpits these days for safety reasons. Most playboats can be used with roto 3 size decks. There are some exceptions. I think the Pyranha s-series have bigger cockpit rims. A roto 3 would still fit bigger cockpits but they can be stretched to the point of damage and star letting in water. This is what happened to me anyway. Most creekers tend to have bigger cocks because there's more of an emphasis on safety in these boats and they're big enough to accommodate the size of the hole. You might be looking at roto 4 or roto 5 decks for these.

On the site it says it's "keyhole" size is for kayak cockpits 70-82 cm long and according to this rota 4 equates to a maximum cockpit size of 50cm wide and 85cm long, although it's specifically for palm decks.

Anyway as soon as I get my coaching money (which should be in the next few days, whoo!) I might pick these up.

Hmmm...  now that you mention it, calling them vaginas would probably make a lot more sense...
