Paddling on Friday?

I know I'm getting this up early but Friday sounds pretty good because..

1. there's a reasonable bit of rain forecast for Thursday and Thursday night which will be on top of a river that won't be completely dry. The pictures show a big swirley thing in the sky over the atlantic which should hopefully bring some fun.
2. I'm not in work.
