Annamoe Gauge
Ley-Ley:
I'm sure it would have a battery pack which allows it to store energy?

Any more questions let me know.
Yu Liu:
It explains the mechanism well enough. Learned this formula P=ÃÂgh long time ago but is the first time to see it actually is doing any good for us.
The unit doesn't appear to be quiet energy consuming as it works in one of the two modes: periodical monitoring (30 sec every 15 mins) and on-demand monitoring (react to ph calls). Ley! you're right. That's 12V Gel-Cell Battery. ;D
BTW, "If vandalism is a concern, the system should perhaps be mounted on top of a tree or a high pole." A tree is the way to go! afro.gif

That has changed a bit since that page was done, the phone has been replaced with a Siemens TC35 modem in most of the gauges because the phones can be hard to get, and very hard to wire, with the TC35 on that board the modem stays on all the time, so the system uses more power. Daithi has designed a new PCB to run with the modems but I haven't seen it yet.

Not as easy as it sounds! And solar panels don't work very well in the shade!
