Heading to europe this summer?

Have you made sure you have your EHIC, it has replaced the old E111 form. You can get this card from this website http://www.ehic.ie/. It gives you access to health care in that country. It is not instead of travel insurance but is a good idea to have. For further information go to the website.

It gives you what people in that country get from their services. You don't need it for england your passport will do. To be honest for us going on adventure holidays we need insurance to cover the activity. I got some for around 60 euro that covered me for grade four water and air evac plus repatriation. I was renewing mine and thought you might want to get it as well since it's free.

For the trip, http://www.thebmc.co.uk/modules/insurance/Landing.aspx A few of the guys have insurance through these guys.
I should point out that I have VHI health insurance which covers me abroad. When I got the insurance from I think it was travel finders, they checked and it was better for me to claim for everything through them, that's evacuation and hospital treatment. I think Dave had insurance from BMC but you would have to ask him. Cormac Lynch I think also uses them.

Correction to the above post I went with Trailfinders my second year and got a reasonable rate. It does have an option of letting your private health insurance cover you abroad.

Austrian alpine club. This where Cormac Lynch goes for his insurance. Myself and Cheesey both went with trailfinders. Since we didn't claim anything on insurance they were great.
