Title: College vans
Post by: Peter O'Sullivan on November 30, 2016, 20:38:33
There has been a bit of confusion around using the college vans lately. So to clear things up....
To use the van you need:

1. to be over 25
2. have a normal car licence
3. pass an assessment with UCD transport pool.

The transport pool's usage policy is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz2XcJ_-5TFIb2I4Q2QySWtXYXM (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz2XcJ_-5TFIb2I4Q2QySWtXYXM)

And the application form is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz2XcJ_-5TFIenZxNGZ5Q0hleGM (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz2XcJ_-5TFIenZxNGZ5Q0hleGM)

As far as I can tell the current list of approved drivers is
1   Kieran McKevitt
2   Johannes Thun
3   Peter O'Sullivan
4   Evan O'Keffee
5   Jayne Stephens
6.     Sara Griffin
To arrange an assement you need to talk to John in the transport pool, 087 2577358. To date the club hasn't been charged for using the vans. So the only cost has been the fuel.

Bit of an update: Since November 2016 UCD have started charging for hire of the van. Still unsure of the exact rate per day as the invoice we got didn't have a break down of cost.

Was there much of a warning or were ye just slapped with a bill?

We knew they were going to start charging at some stage it was just a matter or when. We asked for a break down but never recieved a clear answer. From what I can work out the van is 37 euro per day.

A bit of an update on cost, the college charges the club 30.48euro per day for a van.
