So Fraser Harrison is fecking off to Vietnam for a couple of years at the end of May and is having a mad weekend to celebrate! :)
Plan is the weekend of the 21st of May, camp out at the Etive, bring boats for Kayakers and everyone else can go exploring/chill or whatnot :)
Flights are around £25 pounds return at the moment :)
Anyone interested? :)

boats will make it 100 euro more, also we'd need them to transport us if we fly or else rent a van..

It's now the 14th :(

Yeah...that's the second part of the puzzle 😜

Around €400 for a car and three people from larne to scotland

So I have it under good authority that since this isn't a NUKC Official trip you are welcome to use our kit under the usual disclaimer*
I am also a bad and changed the date to the week before which unfortunately is in the middle of your exams I hear :'(
But yeah screw exams come to Scotland!
* Club kit is being lent to NUKC members who are responsible for it's condition when away. Any damage done to club kit will be covered by the members who are there. NUKC is in no way affiliated with the trip etc.etc.etc

as for paddleing/bringing a boat/getting a ferry to drive/other things i havnt thought of
i havnt put any thought into thinking about it yet
-
Would love to come pending work situation when that time of year comes around.
-
Yup, if all my exams are the first week 😜
-
Seeing as I won't have exams I might be interested, it'll depend on if an alps trip is happening though
-
I would definitely be up for this...especially since I won't be able to get much paddling done this summer with workies and all :'(

a revised estimate of less than 99%
i still think i will be able to go, but just not AS sure as before.....say, like, umm 84%?
edit: also, i wont be driving, wont be bringing a boat, might consider bring other gear so i can jump in and mess around

Timetable is out, who can or wants to come?
-
I'd like to come!
-
I'm in. Just need a plan.

i have a plan, attack
-
Don't think i can go :(
-
Right so I thought I would give y'all some more info since time is getting on and it won't be long now.
Flights have gone up price wise :(
I can still get return flights from Dublin to Edinburgh leaving on Friday 13th returning on Monday 16th for £47.
I am fairly confident we will have enough tent space for anyone that wants to make the trip. The same goes for other camping stuff such as stoves/utensils/stuff. Sleeping bags might be a bit tough although I know those are a pain to bring in hand luggage so I will see what I can rustle up.
As for transport there are a couple of options.
- Rent a car: will cost about £50 for a 5 seater for the weekend
- Scrounge lifts: We should have lifts for everyone but might lack flexibility
- Public transport: The camp site has decent connections and we will be running shuttles but bleh trains
Boating wise you are welcome to use NUKC club kit. We will be using our standard private trip rules in regards to this. Basically you break it you pay the value although in the past we have split the cost of any damages amongst everyone on the trip. The official policy is quoted below.
If the equipment has been damaged during the private trip then the committee should be notified. It is a condition that the member borrowing equipment will replace equipment, this will be determined by the club committee as to the value and cost of replacement. Taking into account the condition and age of any of the equipment.
Right that is probably enough of me prattling on. Feel free to hit us up on facebook or drop us a text if you need us +447950539181
