Title: River Inny Co. Kerry
Post by: Peter O'Sullivan on January 07, 2015, 21:53:39
Niall F, Diarmuid and I paddled the Inny in Co. Kerry to scout its potential as a river for beginner trips. (Niall and Diarmuid may not have fully realised my plan when we got on the river.) Anyway, below is the link to where we paddled. I had the GPS running on my phone. Its on OS sheet 83 near the Cummeragh.

Total distance: 7.68 km (4.8 mi)
Total time: 1:10:51
Moving time: 1:08:06
Average speed: 6.51 km/h

The trip could be split in two sections, Foildrenagh Bridge to Doory and Doory to the Inny Bridge on the N70. The first section would be a little more exciting. The level was low when we paddled the river and the river was flat and boring. With a bit more water it would be a good river for beginner trips. When I get around to it I will do a full description for IWW ( its not in the old guide book either).

Must have been Ross then. Parts of Kerry were a bit of a blur.

are we sure Peter didn't mistakenly take some bad X instead of E and hallucinated the presence of another person when he was actually running the river alone?.
