Title: Dun Laoghaire and Liffey Swim
Post by: Ross on August 06, 2015, 11:16:26
The 23rd of August has a swim in Dun Laoghaire that the organisers are looking for 5 or 6 kayakers to be rescue for.

There is also one on the 19th of September on the Liffey, which will probably clash with the first Dun Laoghaire trip.

Let me know below if you are interested, I presume there will be payment, apparently UCDCC are getting known as a well trained team in this kind of work!

For anyone who doesn't know what's involved, it's usually being present on the water somewhere where people can hold onto you to rest briefly, there is usually a rib that would be present that you might signal if a person can't go on.

23rd - Dun Laoghaire       FULL

Reserve: peter

19th - Liffey

Also, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing people physically exerting themselves hugely while you're sitting there chilling

Sure stick me down for both. I love supporting local events.
I'm assuming there'll be a few drivers in this crew?

I can't modify my post anymore, so if any committee wants to keep it updated, that would be nice!

I will have to go to the boathouse anyway to get a boat. I presume we will need to be in larger boats than playboats?
