Title: Attention erasmus and emigrated paddlers!
Post by: Maryanne on September 25, 2011, 19:44:16
I've been thinking for a while how many paddlers to do with UCDCC are abroad at the minute, either on Erasmus, on an exchange or to work. At the fresher stand we had photos and videos of several exotic places (which were much admired), but the videos that got the best responses were the ones where we were able to say "yeah that's x from UCD". It occurred to me that we could have the best of both worlds, photos/videos of UCDCC paddlers on exotic rivers all around the world!

Anyone abroad interested in:
- uploading photos to the facebook page (UCDCC Disco Paddlers)
- tweeting about paddling (@ucdcc)
- writing an article for the blog
- being interviewed for the blog
- talking about past adventures when you get back

No pressure if none of that appeals to you, and I hope everyone's getting on great regardless of kayaking activity!
But if you'd like to share any anecdotes/photos etc, we'd love to hear it!

You should get onto to people like Satu, Raisa, Jim and loads of others and ask them to link or write something for you. Jenny Kilbride would be another person and then there are some serious paddlers still floating about who'd be abel to write some stuff.

I'm afraid I don't know who any of those people are... And it would appear they haven't seen this post, maybe I'll write it on the facebook page, seems there are more oldies clued into that than the board.

Deadly  8) I hear you're good at english too, no pressure, but I'm expecting something amazing. In fact, kayaking and composition crafted into the one venture, Dave, this blog was made to showcase your skills!
But like I said, no pressure.   ;D

Here is some video from my paddling in the North island with AUCC paddlers. http://www.vimeo.com/23659285 Not much of a blog writer, but I'll looking into blog stuff.

I'm off to the West Coast tomorrow for a long weekend of heli paddling. Hope to have photos on line next week.

Heli boating is amazing. 15min in the air. Paddled the North Branch of the Mokihinui river, about 28km in one day. Its in this http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Seddonville+7891,+West+Coast,+New+Zealand&hl=en&ll=-41.524001,172.171555&spn=0.108984,0.264187&sll=-43.532054,172.636225&sspn=0.844292,2.113495&vpsrc=6&geocode=FUz7hf0dWVBACg&hnear=Seddonville,+West+Coast,+New+Zealand&t=h&z=13
