Title: Level 4 Training
Post by: Can't ice-skate on October 02, 2016, 20:37:08
So I've been thinking it would be a great idea to get some formal training for level 4 skills in over the next few months, with an assessment at some stage also depending on interest. EVERYONE with their level 3 should look to take part. Even if you don't end up doing the level 4 assessment, it'll be a great learning experience to take your paddling to the next level.

Who's interested?

Nothing set in stone yet, just want to get an idea of numbers. We can sort out weekends that suit.

1) Alex
2) Anna May
3) Niamh
4) S Grizzle
5) Ailbhe T
6) MOM
7) Yvette
8) Mark
9) Greg
10) Me lol
11) Andrew

I'd definitely recommend the training to everyone! If you do organise an assessment I'd be interested in that just

If ye've done one before then ye should be going for your assessments rather than a second training lads!

So it's looking like it'll be in November sometime, won't be able to get an instructor before then. We'll have to wait for a good bit of rain so we'll likely pick a date on quite short notice unfortunately.

It's supposed to be a ratio of 4:1 students to instructor so we'll hopefully get two (Laura Griffin and Dave Holden most likely) on the same day, but we might have to do 2 sessions.

Level 4 training cost around €75 a head through CI so probably around the same. Also cert is €75 usually, there is also sometimes training days with level 4 instructor assessments.

It all depends on levels, there's no rain so Wicklow isn't up. It'll likely be fairly short notice unfortunately due to the nature of the weather

Ok guys, so as it happens there's some level 4 training AND assessment next Sunday 27th November. Unfortunately there's only two spaces left, so anyone that's available get in touch with Jenny Kilbride at jenny@kayaking.ie ASAP.

Don't worry if you can't make it this time, I'll get another one going as soon a I can get an instructor.
