22 April Boyne Bash Development Day
Development day? Is that just a large training day? Sounds great except for how close the exams are.
The marathon stuff sounds great. I'd love to learn how to fix fibreglass cracks. As a general thing, but also for the hull on Lawrence.
-
Yep, that's about it. I'll ask them exactly what they have planned. Their website is now even working again (kinda).
Is the hull on the Deceptor not water-tight? hmmm...
There's a Gola-sprint and a Gola that certainly need some help.
-
I'd be up for doing the Marathon races - I won't be around in July but I could make all the other ones
-
i'm interested in everything, should be around most, if not all summer
-
Definitely interested in the freestyle training stuff especially. What is the significance of ranked marathon races versus non-ranked?
-
Remind me to send you on BOB's contact details from the Canoe Ireland executive, he's big on developing marathon.
-
@Ross: When you compete a ranking competition you get a certain number of points depending on how you do. At the end of the year these points are added up. The top paddlers in a division get a prize and the competing clubs are ranked, which looks like this (http://www.irishmarathoncanoeing.com/files/CLUB%20PTS%202011.pdf)
@kieran: He's the chairperson of the marathon committee isn't he? You know him well?
-
Wow. Looks like we have some catching up to do.
-
Well that score was based on one race Niall, Karen and Matt entered over the summer (and maybe varsities last year, not sure, ask Niall).
The hope would be that a few people in even a few races and our ranking would rise like a toddler's helium balloon released from its restraints.
-
Definitely up for loads of competitions over the summer as well, as long as we are talking weekends, since I will be doing that boring library and dissertation writing during the week! Already looking forward to trying out all the skills we've learned in the club :-)
-
Just throwing it out there - while plans are still being made - I'd be up for any playboating or river running training that goes on....interested in the other stuff too :)
-
Yup, Lots of everything I hope. I don't want to go too crazy when people are still doing exams and what-not.
-
I'd like to do some of this! Just not this week, I've a fair bit of work.
-
turns out ill be working in meath for the summer so depending on hours and whatnot i may actually make some of this stuff! ^-^
