Title: Boathouse Cleanup - 11:00 Saturday 20th
Post by: Diarmuid on April 17, 2012, 22:37:38
Set a reminder on your pocketwatch, coz it's time to clear the gaff out!  afro.gif

The week after exams finish, Saturday 19th May, we're having a boathouse cleanup.

There'll be choons and more to keep you singing your way to a spanking clean and repaired boathouse!
 8) (and hopefully some gorgeous weather too)

Any ideas for things that could be done would be much appreciated, please PM me here or get in contact whatever way you like, they'll be taken on board and quite likely used!

We'll also be getting a record of every bit of gear the club owns.
More deetz will go up later!  ;D

Myself and mark are banned from being in the boathouse together, it has to do with lighters, aerosols and some posters. It's a good thing that the roof is made of asbestos.

Bring the trailer to whomever made it, from what I could see you will need to sand off the galvanise in a few spots to weld. Then paint it with hammerite. If you don't want to talk to the original company, Benny's friend Joey O Neill is a welder. Noel whelan's company might be an option but Noel doesn't do trailers, so unless business is really slow, won't be interested.
Option two is to get strips of metal and place these over the mesh and bolt to secure. Or use metal cable ties.

realistically we all know a few people who are well capable of doing a bit of welding so thats really not a huge issue..... :)

Post by: Douchier on April 22, 2012, 16:47:35
Depressingly, the mesh coming off the sides is far from its biggest problem.

Club hovercraft with boat racks.

Issue closed.

Ha ha! Now I'm glad I didn't ask for my name to be welded into the cage trailer! I am a GImp , its just like being a pimp, except it has a G instead of a P

Post by: Diarmuid on May 13, 2012, 00:00:08

Well, countdown is on

If you come along you'll have the pleasure of seeing all the gear in the boathouse, even things you thought we didn't have

There'll be plenty of nailing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCpCn0l4Wo) and screwing and shifting of gear

Would anyone like to bring a bbq? Cuz that'd be class!

Sorry about the short notice, but some stuff that would be great for tomorrow would be:

A circular saw

1 (2 if possible) cordless drills.

A stereo and some tunes!
Title: Re: Boathouse Cleanup
Post by: Diarmuid on May 18, 2012, 13:22:08
I can do the drills, but other peeps bring some too as I'll likely forget :)

tunes i can do too :)

Post by: Douchier on May 18, 2012, 13:32:47
We'll need a good big stereo so that they can gear us all over campus.

Extension cords too, a few of those would be great
Title: Re: Boathouse Cleanup
Post by: Douchier on May 18, 2012, 15:13:31
ooh, and a try-square, or at least a t-square would be really handy. As would a bevel iph anyone has one.

And dub-step, there should be dub-step.

I'm quite excited!

Stuff needed:

- drills
- stereo
- extension leads
- try square / t square
- circular saw
- bevel
- black sacks
- sweeping brushes
- dustpan and brush
- hammers
- screws
- spare bits of wood n stuff
- chocolate
- sweets

I believe Derv is bringing diposable barbeques, so there'll probably be a shop run at some point.
And if she can't for whatever reason, there'll still be a shop run, but for less raw things. :D

I'v just noticed that the cover bit for the boot of my car is missing and I left it in the boathouse the day of the RSR. If ye could just put it somewhere out of the way tomorrow that would be great, I'll be up to collect it next weekend.

Amazing work done in the boathouse today! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to help (and a mention to Eoghan who came out to try and cause havoc, but was too hungover) a solid 12 hours of clearing, cleaning, sorting and remodeling! Over 20 new boat rack spots created and more floor space...and more natural light, I hear the feng shui is all flow-y and stuff too...
