Hey Hey Guys,
As most of you already know it's our Fresher's Trip to Midleton in Cork next weekend (19th - 21st Oct.) Woop Woop !
We'll be meeting up at the boathouse at 1 on Friday to pack the trailer. If you get there on time you'll be much more likely to get the better gear ! If you 100% can't make it to pack the trailer, as a last resort Diarmuid (Equipment Officer) can be contacted and be asked nicely to put gear on for you. Though it will be best if you can do it yourself !
From there we'll go grab a bit of food, as the club won't be providing a meal on Friday because we'll get down so late !
We hope to be arriveing back on Sun. evening about 7-8.
The trip will cost 55 Euro !
Bring
For kayaking:
Towel
Togs
Old Shoes
Thermals (fleeces, tights work well for keeping your legs warm, thermal tops/trousers, NEVER anything woolen or cotton etc)
If you have a wetsuit or any kayaking gear, bring it! If not, no worries, the club has it all.
Other:
DRINK - The club will provide some drink for Saturday night, but you can bring your own for Friday and extra for Saturday if you so wish! (There will be shops nearby)
FOOD - Food will be provided, but not on the Friday as we will be getting there late so eat beforehand, but bring spare food incase you are likely to get hungry
FANCY DRESS COSTUME - Possibly the most important part of the weekend, more so than the kayaking, drinking and eating combined... The FANCY DRESS PARTY on Saturday night! You can dress up as anything you heart wishes, and it's some amount of craic!
Money - We will be heading out to the pub on the Saturday to scare the locals so bring a bit of money, or in case you want to get anything from the shop
Sleeping bag - optional. Should be beds and duvets, just if your worried they'll run out, or want to be extra warm...

In order to garuntee your spot on the trip, you will have to get your money (55 Euro) to Ellen, this years treasurer. Ellen will be at the Pool Sessions next Tuesday and Thursday. Friday night had an acoustic guitar playing, chats and chipper feel to it, then on Saturday night the beat was well and truly dropped, nice work all round on costume making, bantering and general shenanigans!
Inch surf seemed to play well with everyone (Lahinch plug!) and if you liked Lee Fields, you'll love the Liffey (Saturday trip plug!).
Looking forward to the jacuzzi on Tuesday :)
