any chance we could start badgering the pool to let us take the xp3's to limerick?
if we start now we may have them worn down by the time varsities rolls around? :)

we could even wrap them in plastic for the road!!

Yup, that's the plan.

I believe that Maryanne has started badgering already.

If you want a cleaning protocol, I can dig one out of the files, I've a couple from different organisations regarding moving a boat from one area to another plus the Kilarney lakes one

Protocols for organisations other than the ones we're dealing with aren't relevant.

Hygiene shouldn't be an issue at all as we're talking about pools in both cases.

The issue is primarily whether they agree to us borrowing their stuff which is a matter between the club and UCD Sports and Fitness.

Just got confirmation that i have the Friday and the Monday off! :)

So: Im going home Thursday night straight from work, so far I've one (possibly2- rach?) boat spaces taken... Ill take more boats but I'll have to collect them Wed night or early (before8) thurs morning.... If people wanna come down with me and kip in my gaff they're more then welcome, but they'll have to get as far as bluebell (which is fine really!)...

Ye can start thinking about all that! :)

Shotgun !

Rules broken and therefore any right to shot gun void.

In any case, I prefer to left rear seat. That way I can stare a Diarmuid without him noticing.

Re: boats

I asked UCD if we could use the XP3s from the pool, I made sure to say how safely they'd be transported and stored and that they'd only be used indoors and briefly thought we were on to a winner, but unfortunately when the idea was brought before "upper management" the answer was no.

The boats are owned by the pool and are covered by the pool's insurance which ceases to cover them once they're removed from the premises. Maybe there'll be a way around this at a later stage, but for now the pool want to keep the boats indoors to preserve them for as long as possible.

Diarmuid's working on a plan B for borrowing a set now, we'll update once we have any definite news.

Random Question, will we have to wear swim hats in the pool? Or are helmets enough?

just helmets, UL dont enforce swim hats for kayaking...

..of course, you should wear it because it's got UCD on it.

If not then you need to get yourself a new hat

UPDATE

Quote
Polo:
Tournament style competition. Each team shall play 3 games in the opening group stages. Points are received on a Win(W), Draw(D) and Lose(L) basis. Based on a teams results from the opening rounds, a team shall progress or be eliminated. In the event of a points tie, goal difference shall settle things. the scoring system is shown in the Captains pack.

Looks to me like pools of 4 teams so, which means that the winners of the groups would all go on to semi finals.
