The proper campsite is 10euro per night. Bring insect repellent.

There is a GoPro mount permanently inside the bridge arch, so bring your GoPros.

I'd recommend the proper campsite despite the midges for proper toilets and showers.

Lidl and Aldi are opposite each other on the way into Clifden from Galway.

Depending on how I'm working that weekend I may or may not be there !

so who's heading to clifden this weekend?

I'm tempted! What an opportunity for everyone to make a fool of themselves /have a party/ get some paddling in before all the freshers arrive!  8)

I'd like to go and pass on whatever knowledge/skill I can to next years freestyle team. I would prefer not to be the only one paddling. It would be a pity for the summer to pass by and for me to be the only clud member to paddle at Clifden.

Right well I'm interested but not 100% sure I can go since I may have committed to something else. But if we can get even a small group to go I'll do my best to be there (I won't have a car so any driver's out there wanna go  :) ).
I'm genuinely thinking that if I don't use my playboat in some way before the end of summer I'm selling it

Here's the original if anyone didn't see it.
So I texted a few people about going this weekend without realising the levels would be too low but Clifden will be running at a great levels on Friday evening the 9th, twice on Saturday the 10th and again on the morning of the Sunday. Note that the hole forms about 2 hours before Galway Harbour High tide times given here.

More information about the feature can be found here = Clifden Hole

I will be driving from Dublin on Friday as I plan to rent the Monstar from I-Canoe so I can go from the boat house if people want. I will have space for 3 other people and their 3 playboats!

There's camping in Clifden Village.

If you don't have a playboat don't fret, the club have a few and I-Canoe rent some as well for about €40 a week. List of kayaks I-Canoe rent

Here's a video of Clifden Hole if you're wondering what it looks like

And here is a Video of BentFest from last summer which has UCD paddlers at Clifden.

So do you really need anymore convincing??  :P

So far it's Alex and myself definitely going and a maybe from Eoghan and Peter.

Just repaired my boat today. Had to wait for kevlar tape to arrive. Epoxy is still drying. I won't know until tomorrow if the boat is ok to use this weekend.

Also Garbhan, you should aim to be on the water 17.45 tomorrow, leave the boathouse at 14.00 and get an extra tide in.
