Right so here's the down low...
There won't be a club river trip in week 12. (30-4-16)BUT fear not Jackson's Fest is running!!
This is a race on Jacksons in Laragh. Anyone that has a level 3 or is paddling at level 3 standard should definitely be making it their business to come to this event.
Don't worry about not being good enough, or not enjoying racing or generally just being shit craic you should come along. We will be organising cars (
perhaps a bus if there is sufficient interest) to bring both paddlers and spectators along. This is a really good chance to meet people outside of the college paddling community too, this is something that really important as you progress as a paddler and are looking to get out more...the more people you know the more you learn and get out and paddle. Even just participating in a race will be hugely beneficial to your paddling, really helping you to progress.
Finally, the proceeds of the event all go directly to the
Irish Cancer Society and the registration is 20 euro including a free hat.However, if you're willing to go without a hat, I've managed to get us a student discount of
15 euro entry - subject to a minimum of 10 people signing up.

I've already signed up myself, will probably pay full whack if it's on - mostly cause I'll be damn impressed by the week Steve will spend rerouting the garden hoses of everyone who lives along the banks of the Avonmore.
For the record, they intend to run some kind of event even if jacksons is too low, a race down stream instead so there will be something happening :)

Everyone needs to fill out the google docs on the Jackson Fest page, its on Facebook - everyone should be invited so it shouldn't be a problem to access the doc. There are not sufficient number spaying 15 so if you're going you'll need to pay the 20 euro.

I'm heading down home the night before so I can't give lifts unfortunately! Bekey mangan has racks and space she's a ULKC oldie living nearby, get on to her!
Yeah I'm also possibly heading home the Friday night, but if I do stay and go down on the day I'll be able to bring people/boats down but not back up.
