BUT fear not Jackson's Fest is running!!
This is a race on Jacksons in Laragh. Anyone that has a level 3 or is paddling at level 3 standard should definitely be making it their business to come to this event. Don't worry about not being good enough, or not enjoying racing or generally just being shit craic you should come along. We will be organising cars (perhaps a bus if there is sufficient interest) to bring both paddlers and spectators along. This is a really good chance to meet people outside of the college paddling community too, this is something that really important as you progress as a paddler and are looking to get out more...the more people you know the more you learn and get out and paddle. Even just participating in a race will be hugely beneficial to your paddling, really helping you to progress.
Finally, the proceeds of the event all go directly to the Irish Cancer Society and the registration is 20 euro including a free hat.
However, if you're willing to go without a hat, I've managed to get us a student discount of 15 euro entry - subject to a minimum of 10 people signing up.
