Merry Kerry is nearly upon us so the only thing left to do is bring yourself down a boat to embrace the joys of severely hungover paddling. We have had the added luxary of having a van to transport the boats down to Kerry this year. The committee discussed thoroughly what boats were given priority to be taken in the van.
Priority was given to individuals with club boats who had no means of transporting their boats. After that priority was given to individuals who would have to travel a greater distance to go back to UCD to collect boats.
Bare in mind changes may have to be made if there is more sign-ups . If there is any problems please contact a committee member.
The Boat Pack for Kerry to pick out your boat and gear will be held on the 21st of December between 5-7pm. Please let Andrew know if your coming to the boat pack (as I won't be hanging around otherwise)
If these times do not suit please contact our committee to arrange an alternative date / time.

I won't be bringing my playboat anyway

The actual loading of the van have to happen on the afternoon of the 23rd. I'm working on the 22nd and my office party starts at 14.00 that day. Boats will need to be ready to travel. IE. emptied of water, airbags in them, name + contact number written on them, gear like throw ropes and splits secure in them. Nothing loose hanging off the outside.
I'll be taking paddles as well. There is a role of stickers just inside the door. Label the paddles you want loaded.
I think I have Ailbhe C and John E helping me load boats on the 23rd.
-
I can help from 6.30pm on the 23rd if need be.
-
I shall be there on the 23rd 8)
-
Would someone pack my paddles in for me if that's okay? Wont get there myself.

Will aim to pop down around 5 tomorrow to pop my new airbags in Princess Bluebell and throw some paddles in for myself!
-
I'm aiming to be at the boathouse around 15.00 on Friday. Looks like there is still space for one or two more playboats.
-
I updated the list on the top post to reflect what was packed. Two canoe paddles also packed. Hopefully Ailbhe C , Ross or Ailbhe No. 4 will notice if there any mistakes in the list.

Did paddles go on for those boats? :)

I'll be at the boat house around 12.30 on Saturday unpacking the van. Anyone free to give a hand?
-
I can be there Peter!

If I'm around I'll come by.

I'll try be there too

In the end the van used 106.76 euro of diesel and 6.80 euro for tolls giving a total of 113.56. To Kerry and back was 800km and the van did roughly 10.3 l/100km. So the new white van uses only slighly more fuel than the crappy red older van (10.0 l/100km).
