Title: Liffey Descent Rescue

Hi Gang
Just wondering if people who are not Competing in the Liffey Descent would be interested in providing rescue.
There are normally 3 positions that ucd will fill for the race.

Ash Corkery (normally )
Provides a team for Wrens Nest

Lorcan Fields (normally)
Provides rescue teams for Sluice Weir and Sluice gates and The Bridge below the dam.

If you are interested in  helping out on the day please post below.

People who help in the rescue will recieve a Liffey Descent T-Shirt and a ticket for the after party.

Last year the party was in the Arc Bar in Lucan and was a brilliant night.

Should be available for rescue, have the car can provide transport. If you want to practice your rescues great day to do it. I thought they also gave a free meal as well?

If i am missing anybody please let me know
If people are down here for rescue at sluice i do expect them to rescue rather than play in sluice all day. There will be plenty of time for that before 2 if your early.
I would also like one or two people to head to the bridge in Leixlip I know it isn't as fun there but we still need rescue.

I will be ringing the ICU today to confirm numbers. And to get the T-Shirts and party/ meal tickets sorted. Also if people who have cars don't mind they may and i repeat may be asked to go to another weir. (probably not)

Hey gang.
If people could assemble at the sluice car park at 12.30
the race starts at 12.30 and will take about an hour to get to sluice. this will give people time to walk around to the far side if they are not paddling. I would prefer if people who will be throwing bags from the bank are a good bit down below sluice as in about 50-80 meters before the end of the run.
and if the people who are going to chase boat will sit in the top few eddies taking care to avoid the ropes.

If you have any queries let me know.

If people wish to play in sluice please arrive early and don't get in the way of the race.

Cool see you there, I'll be out early o'clock. Do you want to meet up for any reason beforehand or will I just see you in the eddy? Also I'm driving, so, anyone who wants to go early and play call me.

Just want to meet up so we can sort out who is doing what and where. and to give out the race packs.
In the pack this year will be a voucher for a raffle being held in the marquee at the end. it must be filled out and make it's way to the finish.
