Heya Everyone,
Just wanted to Congratulate Benny (and 3 of his Kiwi mates) on their successful finishing of an epic first decent (with no injuries!!). The river was called "the Big River" and it's on the far north west coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
It took 2 days (kind of unexpectedly), with one uncomfortable night "sleeping" on the river bank/bush, (where bed consisted of a pile of big rocks form what i gather). It was a helicopter fly-in run in the middle of thick bush, ie: nowhere. Grade 5 most of the way with some monster portages to boot.
Congrats to the lads anyway, check out his bebo/facebook in a few days, I’m sure he'll have some photo's and footage up by then.
