mmmmmm wibbly wobbly wonders i like ice-cream
-
i think it is grade three in flood, which happens about once a year. either way i thought i should tell yee.
oh and like siobhan said this will be the white water for varsities.
-
It has two grade three rapid sections as it's part of the old shannon, the rest is diverted to the Dam. It's grand, the castle rapid is even a bit of craic in most water levels, it's limerick's local annamoe slowed down.
-
castle?really con? it has two walls
-
Better than the castle in Carlow, which has one!
-
oh yeah? well my castle doesn't have any walls, so :P to you
-
worst stretch of river ever!!
-
Shut up you bloody foreigner, people are meant to find that out for themselves and then we laugh at them at the take out with beers and hookers! How's Nepal?
-
im guessing he dosent have to wait till the take out of a river to get beers and hookers. ;)

The Castleconnell section of the shannon is a simple stretch that has a minimum amount of water garaunteed all year and is a great training ground for level 3 paddling. Only the unimaginitive see it as anything less.... ::)
It's well suited to this kind of race but is no joke in high water. There have been people airlifted from midflow trees on the S bend section several times.
Like Siobhan said, there'll be better than average levels to facilitate the race.

sounds great.. personally i would be encourage our freshers to make up 50% of all teams entering, and then the other 50% going to the clubs top boaters.
