...i am unfortunately handing in my resignation as Treasurer which will take effect immediately.
This has been something that i have been thinking about for a few months now and since being back in College it has something that has always been on my mind. As you know i am in Final Year and to me that is my main priority. I am aiming to achieve a top grade in my Degree this year.
My intetnion this year was to committ alot of time to the Canoe Club. However as events have unfolded over the past 4 weeks I have found myself being burden with alot of College Work and this is impacting on my involvment with the canoe club.
In the upcoming weeks and months, i have many assignments, reports, projects to complete. I have to prepare my CV and i also have to fill in many application forms for companies and doing alot of interviews. After seeing the level of involvment that i have to give to College and UCDCC i have had to make this decision and resign from my position as Treasurer as i would not be able to committ fully to my duties.
This is not something that i am saying and will regret. I have thought about this continuosly over the last weeks and unfortunately will not be able to continue. I will of course be here throughout the year but not as much as previously hoped.

i second that, he's not in final year, he did alot for fresher's week and he's also a commerce student.

Evan was brilliant on the stand during the expo and he didn't even have to be there at all. Also he's always around giving an extra hand.
As for Lorcan, evreyone knows how much he gives to the club already with being an instructor and all that.

I nominate Mr.C... the perfect candidate who's very line of work deals with manipulating numbers so everything seems perfectly ok.. ;D
Okay as far as the UCDCC constitution goes there is no prohibitation of a graduate or non college member being on the committee except for captain and senior treasurer. Now the guidelines for senior treasurer from the AUC state that it most be a graduate of UCD at least 2 years graduated, full time employment and preference for ucd member of staff. I know in the past that we have had people not in college on the committee and even not from ucd. So there is a precident, however the AUC ( the people who give you the money) want UCD students or graduates. I believe we could argue an exceptional case this time and for this year. It would be very useful to have a fully qualified level 3 on board. If your willing to give over your time Lorcan you have my vote.

Sorry joxer was just pointing out that captain and senior treasurer are the only ones that have specific requirements under the constitution. Also to remove a captain or senior treasurer requires at least three quarters of the club while other positions just require 2/3 of a qorum at an egm. In other words you can't get rid of them unless you shoot them.
I second shooting Joxer-much better idea altogether. This is going to be the best EGM ever!
I second fuzzy, he's been the man behind the treasury for many years now and has done this above and beyond the call of duty. I don't mean any disrespect to Even (who i would normally nominate for this), yes even i thought you were already on the committee!!, but the club finances are up S#*t creek at the moment and Fuzzy has done the most to sort them out and also has the financial knowledge to keep them straight in the future
The club finances are fine. The only issue is finding figures to explain why we have more money than we should. This would normally have been done in one drunken afternoon.

I feel that there has been a certain lack of style and grace in the campaign, so I am nominating the CAN OF HARP. Yes this canditate has held numerous positions over the years, it has heaps of experience in dodgy finacial dealings and of course is on the side of all alcohol even if it is a foreign imported fortiefied tonic wine. Yeah, I didn't exactly stay sober so much as pass out in the toilets in the hotel, sleep for a few hours and get left behind. When I got a taxi back to the house I was well rested. I was the last UCD person left awake ( a little odd..) with about five others, I think from Cork. The one of the two of them together may have been from the Saturday morning. That was taken on the couch and I know that Rodge slept upstairs because I found him the next morning after the bus had left for Limerick, asleep on his own, about to be left for good.
