are any of these light accessible reading? or are they very dense and text-booky? I've always wanted to get at least some grasp of economics and for the sake of a tenner I might grab one of them...

Whats with all the engineering types needing economics books? Have they realised that actually there aren't any jobs for engineers but economists are constantly on the news and want a slice of the pie?

an engineer with no other feathers in his hat (because engineers like feathery hats) is a powerful tool (I mean that both ways), but an engineer who is also an economist is a whole other level of formidable. an economist with no engineering, on the other hand, is just inefficient. why get an engineer and an economist to do something, when the engineer can do it alone?

How is this any different to a normal economist?

Evan economics is a social science based on the principles of mechanical engineering. Making it possible the easy subject for anyone used to reading graphs. Normal people can struggle with finding meaning form lines but not engineers.
