Thursday, 1pm at the boathouse, for kayaking adventures!
Love Karen
-
Better yet... who's up for a road-trip!
I'm not really doing anything for the next week or so - who wants to head west, or south, or North or something?
Failing that, I'll be there on Thurday! Woot!
-
Go to college.
-
How about 3pm or any time on Friday.
-
How about Thursday and Friday? 3pm too late I think. Getting dark early these days...
-
what time on friday??jer we should sort out thursday paddling at 3!! ;) elec must like their thursday evenings
-
Any time on Friday would suit me, no lectures! Three isn't really too late, is it? What time is getting dark at these days?
-
I can paddle Thursday from 12 on. Con el coche!!!
-
I'll be around all day Friday - cant go Thursday though
-
I can make it at 3.
Mechs like there 3pm Thursdays too.
-
I'll probably be about Friday, doubt it Thur :)
Might head to sluice tomorrow around 1
-
If there are people interested, I'll go on Thursday too. My first ever golden week can wait.
-
So is there a plan for 2m ???
-
1pm at the boathouse tomorrow. Leighton and I have cars. Post up if you can make it.
-
i'll be there - preferably not driving.
-
Sorry no, I can't I have to write up a report that I only found out about today.
-
Kat could you possibly drive then? Is Jody coming?
Options seem to be thus,
we could head up to the boyne, it should be running, or could check out a new section, the blackwater, it's descibed as 2-3 but the description sounds pretty easy. review here

Or the annamoe, maybe, there was 10 mms on sunday, and 3 and 5 on monday and tuesday, so it could be running, maybe.
Maybe the best plan would be boyne tomorrow and maybe balckwater friday?
-
Or we could just go to Sluice.... Sluice anyone... yes???? Playboating???
I really dont fancy driving to Meath, feckin petrol is expensive!!!
-
I'd probably be up for boyne / blackwater. But will only drive that far once, and probably only tomorrow. Also cars would have to be full or it gets way too expensive and then would prob just stick to sluice / liffey.
Just to note the blackwater seems very long 7-10km, where it says the boyne is down as 6km and in playboats that seems long enough itself.
I doubt wicklow would be up with those levels of rain if it was barely running after 20mm last week - but if anyone knows better feel free to correct me.
As far as I can tell, numbers wise, those who want to go tomorrow are
Karen
Kat
Niall
Jer
Cliodhna
Jody for sluice (not boyne)
Any others?
I can fit 2 paddlers and boats as well as myself. But 5 4 people in two cars to boyne might be too pricey. And driving through town last time to avoid tolls meant a 2.5hr trip home :/
-
I'm up for paddling 2m
Just dont think its worth the long drive for the river in question
-
So is this still going ahead?
-
I just asked Karen. So you can add me to the list! :)
-
Karen
Niall
Shirley
Jer?
Kat
Jody (Sluice)
What would others prefer - still boyne / blackwater or sluice? 1 or 2 more people would prob help swing it towards far away.
-
Either would be fine by me. Are we leaving at one or two?
-
I think it's one, that's what I was told.
-
ok, so karen can't go either, so sluice now is the plan.
I can pick two up from the boathouse at 1 (assuming shirley has boathouse key and wants to go).
If there's more than that interested post up / text and maybe jody can come to boathouse too to pick up. However it's much quicker just to get to sluice than ucd - sluice and jody's busy at the moment so not sure.
edit: so i'm bringing myself and shirley. One more spot going on a first to confirm basis.
-
Ah, sure I'll meet you there.
-
niall - there at sluice, or there at the boathouse. Need to know if my car space is full?
-
I probably won't be able to make until about 1.30ish (maybe a little erlier), is that too late? Is there still room in your car Kat or has Niall taken it?
-
dunno. trying to find out. my number is 086 3680041.
