Hey guys,

Just letting y'all know that Fresher of the Year is on this Tuesday night - the 29th March. It'll be on it the Arts Block, kicking off around 7/8.

Cliona Pierse was the original recipient in 1995.  The cup was donated to the Club by the parents of James Boylan in his memory.  He was a former Captain who died in 1995 after suffering a brain haemorrhage.  He did his bit to make the Club what it is today, and even though most of us would never have met him we shouldn't forget his relevance here, in much the same way that we would like future recipients of the Dee Cup to know about her.

It might be an idea to finally add a base that allows these names to be engraved on the cup. Just remember that each of these people reperesents their year in the club. They show what was fun, good and above all else enjoyed the sport. While only one name is there from each year they represent the spirit of all who where part of the club that year.

Mick o D was mine, and my captain was Ash Corkery that was the 99-00 year. That was Benny cullen, cat halpin, John kelly, Liz palic, Mick O d, Roisin Camone, Jenny kilbride and my first year in the club. I've left out one or two others as well who were in the club all through their years in college. I think you can say that was a good year for the club.
