Pool Freestyle Training!
« on: November 05, 2013, 01:08:37 »
That's right....freestyle training sessions are here!!!

Every Thursday night in the pool we'll be giving our members the chance to get some top notch coaching from some of our more experienced paddlers!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lz9QetRVF4

The video above will give you an idea of the kind of things you can do in the pool!

Every week there will be a signup on this thread! Just pop your name down and if you need to leave early or will be arriving late let us know!

There will be 3 groups each night with 3 paddlers per group! Each session will last 28 minutes with a 2 minute change over period! The times for each group are 21.00, 21.30 and 22.00! If you're late for your session your place will be given to someone else!

If you're in the 21.00 group make sure you arrive early so you're changed by 21.00!

If you have a rash guard bring it!

Finally, here's a video of our very own Peter O'Sullivan tearing it up at varsities last year! This could be any of you this year, so don't hesitate to sign up!

Would like to sign up for freestyle/falling over practice, I generally only need around ten minutes in a boat at the start if this suits you guys.

I would suggest people wear rash vests, stops their boats rubbing the skin off their backs. Also worth bringing are your own paddles if you have them and booties if they are not too dirty.

Anyone have a cheap foam ( no silver side) camping mat they don't mind being chopped into hip pads? I'll bring a role of duct tape.

Who took the foam knee pads out of the blue Exo in the pool? Where did the foam go? It really needs to be stuck back in place.

I actually distinctly remember there being no foam there when I paddled it a few weeks ago but it was the one of the first times i paddled one so I thought nothing of it? Quite probable it arrived with no knee pads

Ye I noticed that from the start that there was only the foam in one boat. I've taken to using a piece of the foam from the footrests on each side and placing it between my knee and the boat. Makes you tighter in the boat and doesn't hurt!

Alright, even if I might only use it to practise my roll - as long as there's no more advanced people wanting a place, I'm in for the third sesh!
