It should be noted that anything Lambe says, the opposite is what he means. Therefore, Lambe would not like to be part of this.

Well said Leighton, lambe infact will not be playing, instead he'll be playing the opposite of polo... Golf

Wouldn't the opposite of polo be something non sporty, dry and a non team sport. Lambe is becoming a hermit in the gobi desert.

Also, all the polo equipment - boats, helmets, buoyancy aids, paddles - are provided by the league for the matches.
I don't think that they have paddles or helmets, but this might have changed. It's also useful to bring some duct-tape as you might have to put bumpers on boats.
The DCPL is great fun and doesn't have to be that big a time commitment. Little enought that you can convince yourself that you're not a polo player.
Also, half the teams in Div 4 are kids...there's nothing better than beating kids! (and nothing worse than losing to them).

I'd love to come along tothe trainings or if there's room left on the team, but it's looking pretty full? Friday nights shoudl suit me. Any idea when training will be starting?

Standard prjion blades are fine but anyothers need to be thick enough for polo. Helmets nothing wrong with an old hurling helmet.

something non sporty, dry and a non team sport.

I would have thought that describes golf pretty well.

It depends, I thought leighton was making a rather clever reference to polo and golf being cars while at the same time making a dig at his sporting ability by saying he would play golf. Golf even though it's a blight on the environment and loads of other negative things (hitler played golf) it's still a sport apparently .

I was making a rather clever reference to how Lambe says one thing and thne doesn't go to Lahinch!! There I said it Lambe, now everyone knows!!

Rodge then picked up on what I said and expanded. Some would say team work, I would say instinct.

Hi Guys,

I play in the league and have two sets of blades and a helmet that can be borrowed. I also have  a spare fibreglass boat that if anybody fits in they can use.  If anybody is the same size as me and doesn't need to adjust the fittings my Carbon Kevlar boat is also available.
If needed i have several polo B-aids with a variety of numbers.
If you have my number text me, if not PM me and let me know.

Lorcan

Wow, that's loads of interest...14 is it?

What about two teams? Dodder Rats & Dodder Mice maybe? How about Dodder Rats & "Floaters"?
It's only 4/team but you need 7+ to be on the squad ( I think the most they take is 10) for subs / no-shows.

You reckon they'll take another Nuala?
