L2 instructor hour logging - KAYAKING EXPLOSION!
« on: October 28, 2012, 19:07:07 »
I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that with L2 assessments going on at the minute, it's an excellent time to log some hours or at least sit in in the assessments.

We were told on the training course that the L2 assessments were very hard to come by, so while they're happening in our own club we should all make sure to benefit from that!

There are pages at the back of the log book where the assessing instructor signs that you were present at the assessment, this does not require you to have logged hours on the trip (in case anyone's nervous about that) which is great news since as we could all sit in on groups either logging hours or as rescue paying close attention (staying with the groups) and experience how an assessment works and what standards are needed.

Also, since this year's freshers are flying, we may not have L2 assessments later in the year cos they'll all be off plugging away at L3s!

Clarification:

Quote
Yes a Level 2 Instructor can teach Level 3 skills so long as it is on the flat water stretches, hence they can log hours on the flat sections of a Level 3 skills trip.

Sure let's give this a whirl and see how we go!

Polo training marked in: for a given night check if div 5 training or div 3&4
(team captains/mentors can find out from their teams when suits)

Times are all provisional and subject to change/adjustment.
If people need more time on L2/L3 skills we'll make more time for that.
