Christmas Trip Saturday 29-11-14
« on: November 26, 2014, 00:05:43 »
Due to the Christmas Party this Friday night, we’d like to get an idea of who would like to paddle the next morning. The plan would be to run Liffey... if hangovers and rain allow.

There will be the option of storing gear in the boathouse beforehand on Friday. We may ask anyone interested to pay €10 in advance [Just in case you need a reason to roll out of bed ;-) ]

P.s. Santa hats are mandatory ;-)

Who's interested and willing to pay up? :-P  Please let us know ASAP so we can get an idea for numbers and plans :)

There is absolutely no rain forecast for Wicklow, so realistically, it will be a Liffey trip if the interest is there.

So far 8 car spaces and 9 people, the plan will be a sluice static, if people still want to paddle. So we will be surfing the hole, breaking in and out of eddies. It is advisable to be able to roll (massive apologies if this may exclude you, but your day of paddling will be mostly cold, miserable and enjoyable, I cannot apologise enough). This will be run as a private trip, meaning gear borrowing forms will have to be filled out, no biggie.

By the way the alternative is possibly bowling in Stilorgan. Should be good craic.
