Liffey Descent Rescue
« on: July 14, 2015, 11:18:48 »
Hey guys, benny Cullen is looking for people to do rescue at the liffey descent on Saturday the 26th of September.

Rescue crews will get a t-shirt, food and event after party access.

So, who want to do it, and which weir would ye like to be placed at? Anyone can provide rescue, you dont have to be level three (as far as i know).

I might as well, but am not 100% sure I'll be around. When do they need to know?

If we ask Trinity to join up with us we could probably have Sluice covered?

Not sure if I'll be racing or not, but would do it if not. Sluice is where all the fun is! I'm sure if Benny knows we're short he'll move things around, probably no point joining with Trinity yet

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for signing up to help us out with this year’s Liffey Descent.  As you are all aware the Descent is on this Saturday 26th September, we have around 500 competitors this year and full 4 Megawatt flood coming from the ESB.  I have attached a draft rescue brief which outlines your positions, times and numbers.  If you have any questions or if your crew numbers have changed please get in touch to let us know.

We have tried to accommodate you in areas you requested as best we could, unfortunately due to the nature of the race and some of the rescue points we have not been able to put everyone exactly where they wanted to be, hopefully you are all happy with your positions.  That said we will probably be moving some teams around between now and then so we can still do a bit of tweaking if required.  As you can see from the list we are still missing a few crews, around 10 people in total to cover Castletown Rapids, Ghost Weir and Glenaulin Weir, if you know of anyone who might be around and available please ask them to fill out the rescue recruitment form and we’ll slot them in.  Thanks again for all your help and support, we’ll send a final Rescue email on Thursday with final positions.

Regards

Benny Cullen
