Since there has been no rain lately, or in ages when you come to think about it, I've been scouting for new options.
So firstly we looked at Golden falls just upstream of Ballymore Eustance and downstream of Poulaphouca falls. There is one superhero line that might work in limited circumstances. Combine that was a fair trek in there isn't must point going there to paddle. Downstream of the superhero move there is kilometers of grade 2.
There's a few photos of Golden falls and Poulaphouca fall here.

So the real fun starts at Poulaphouca falls.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjNNK6a5nKY From the dam down there are a few warm up rapids before two huge drops under the bridge on the N81. We weren't able to climb down to the bottom to see the landings so further scouting required. Guessing the first is about 8m high and the 2nd looks about 9m high. The photos of Poulaphouca falls in that album where taken when there was zero release. Can't wait to get back there and finish scouting where there is water.
So a question for the oldies. Have you ever heard of anyone paddling at either location?
