Spud for sale
« on: July 09, 2008, 13:53:32 »
OK, the time has come for me to part with my much loved spud. Now it is testament to Prijon's build quality that this boat's hull is in good nick (no cracks or other serious damage) rather than my paddling ability. Anyway, it’s time to trade up so the boat has to go to make space in the garage. Bidding starts at 150e....

Don't do it Dave!!!
You'll be sorry. I tried to sell mine a few years ago and when a guy rang up asking about it, I couldn't do it. I just told him it was sold already.

Ritchie that is fighting talk. What is your creek boat
The spud is a great boat for irsh type creeks. Vertually indestructable. This one has a very high prestige associated with it. In particular numerous Austrian rivers and years of Wicklow runs.

Joxer, i hope everyone realises that i'm always up for a good aul banter session.

You right joxer, this time i've over stepped the mark and went too far, i still dislike the spud, but at the end of the day; different boats-different strokes!!!!

I was only joking. But you have to admit the spud was a great boat. A bit dated now but a great boat. Now the Stubby was my first boat

I just paid many times that price for what essentially is a bigger spud.

I loved my stubby. It was a play boat for me. I regret selling it to trinity now. The Cork guys even re-named it the tubby.

fair game!

the stubby was the worst boat i think that i've ever paddled (potentially, i think an argument could be made that it was the worst boat EVER designed). slow as f**k and unresponsive. i'd burn in hell before i'd paddle a stubby again..... and i owned one.....
a spud for 150? i'd buy that for a dollar.............

I wish to also point out that Dave M also has a LUV which is a much worse boat than the spud.

Ah yes the liquid utility vehicle, no comment. On the spud issue first boat I paddled on a whitewater river, plenty of room for the essentials such as beer and more beer. The tubby it was just big boned.

personally i think the greatest boat of all time, is any of the inazones. They revolutionised the mind-set to running small boats in big white water and broke the ice into freestyle paddlin', thus my title for greatest boat EVER.
