Water levels in wicklow, if it hasn't rained for a number of weeks, the boglands dry up. These get re wetted with rain but it can take alot before this hits the rivers. Luckily for you guys there has been a massive loss of peat in the wicklow mountains, which means the holding capacity has decreased and water hits the rivers faster. Bad news is that while the water rises faster it also drops faster because it's no longer a steady flow rather a spate type flow.
