2004 Kayak Intervarsities
As you probably know by now, this years intervarsities will be held in (The
Peoples Republic Of) Cork on the 20th, 21st and 22nd 0f February. We hope that
this mailing list will keep you updated on any changes of additions to the
weekend. If you have recieved this mail but are no longer involved with a
college kayak club, would you please pass it on to the relevant parties?
Events:
We are working hard on planning the events, and some details may be subject
to change, but you will be notified in such case.
At present, the main outline is:
- Polo will be held on the Friday evening in the Lee Fields under floodlight
- The White Water race will be held on Saturday morning. It will be held in
Kerry but the river to be run is still undecided. (possibly the Flesk!)
- The Rodeo will be on Saturday afternoon, on the top Weir in the Lee
Fields(or maybe due to the popular demand for carnage, it might be held in the
well known Hole Of Death - to be decided!)
- Finally, if anybody survives Saturday night, the Long Distance will be on
Sunday, again on the Lee.
Accomodation:
I will be sending out a list of hostels which are located near the events
and partys, in the next few days for your consideration.
Entertainment:
Friday night will be kicking off in the Western Star(around the corner from
the Lee Fields), and then we'll be herded on to Gasworks(formally Club FX for
regular Cork rodeo goers)
Saturday night's entertainment will be held in the Commons Inn, on Commons
Road.
Can i ask people to sign up if their comming and if ya want to enter in any of the events above, (Polo, Rodeo, Whitewater, longdistance) You dont have to be a savage paddler to take part in any event, so this applies to all freshers so come on let me see those names. (not saying there arnt any savage freshers out there  )
I need to know whos coming to arrange accommodation and transport!
