Calling all trainees: dont touch the kids and other vital lessons!

Hi guys
 
I know we've a lot of trainee instructors and I managed to get the south dublin county council calendar for child protection courses. So ill try organise a course if you like.

So does anyone need to do one? Roughly when would you like?

This is also open to people who arent trainees but maybe considering going for level 2 or 3 instructor in the future, or might consider working with kids in any sort of role. It'd be great on a CV.

great! any idea of dates that would suit you ( early/mid/late x month?) iv their calendar up until decmber or if we have a group we might organise 1 just for us.

I'd have a preference for after the midterm break (ie 21st of March on) and maybe for a Sunday?
(Quite a few midterms before then)

hmmm yeah maybe after week 8 because people will be away for the break and then theres always a few exams in week 8...

you know what, i might actually take part in this  obviously im not going for trainee instructor or anything!  but it seems like great value and iv worked in a creche etc in the past and wouldn't mind a working with kids again in future. how long does the certificate last?

I've done this course before and it's well worth having on your CV even if you don't usually work with kids. As far as I'm aware you do the course once and you don't have to renew the cert again. The Sports Council also offer certs in coaching people with special needs and a club children's officer course which are very cheap and the info is worth knowing.
