Just wondering what the parking is like around the bernad shaw and more improtantly that if it is anywhere near town it will be pretty packed with people. Why not go to rodeos joes in churchtown, thye may even be able to section off a spot for a couple of hours?
towns better for everyone churchtowns very out of the way! only reason we had it there 2 years ago was cause roz was having the afterparty!

there's very few corners downstairs in the Shaw, but we might get lucky and get the end beside the window. Its a very eclectic pub, old men upstairs and the funky underbelly of Dublin society downstairs. Also most busses goin into town will let you off very near it, heres a hint, you don't have to go all the way to O'Neills and start walkin from there!!!!!!!

The main road outside the Rds, go towards town, you will reach a canal, follow the canal all the way down to the left until you pass the luas bridge, there's a Hilton beside the bridge on the North side of the canal, take the bridge on the left after the luas bridge which is over head. It should be down there somewhere. I think it is anyways.
O r ring me when your exam gets out as I am driving and need directions to parking, also I need the company, I have gone off the deep end and nothing is making any sense, I tried putting away the vegetables today and had to keep taking them out of the press under the sink instead of the vegetable rack. Don't really know why but dear god am I like a cat in roller skates in a china shop.

I used to get it to & from exams aswell when i wasnt cycling & its grand, especially since yer not going that far.... Evan you've obviously never had to get the 17, then you'd realise that no bus service is worse than it! :P

I meant I'd be heading to Crowes opposite the RDS for a quick one and then head over to the Shaw with everyone else when they finish
I've gotten the 18 from Palmerstown to Ballsbridge and the 17 from Rathfarnham to Crumlin and I'm pretty sure that the 18 wins for the most roundabout route possible

nah, if it's a death bus you want, you need a 17A. calling at Kilbarrack, Coolock, Ballymun and Finglas.
Anyone know if there's parking around or near the Bernard Shaw? Oh and the 17 at peak times is probably the worst. Trust me, I'm an ex employee, I have all the insider info!!
several things
1) Leighton please don't give out directions to places that you don't kno
2) the 17 is the worst bus in the fleet, but it is very closely followed by the 18 and 16. The 17 wins because of its rediculous route, you can sometimes see UCD but still have to wait another 45 min till you get there, also the 17 regularly either displays the wrong number or just blatantly doesn't stop (there really is no excuse for this when your waiting at the terminus!!!!)
3) the Shaw is about a 20 min walk from the RDS so stop all this talk of busses. walk up to the canal, turn west (thats left!) and walk past the luas, past the hilton and keep goin till you reach the porobello pub, then turn left, walk for about 150m and there you are
4) no there is no parking, its beside the flats so even if there was you still wouldn't get your car back
