Hey guys!

there are a few boats that need a little TLC before we take them out to Cork;

Gola Sprint: some leaking and possible crack around the nose
Canadian: it had a little rough treatment its first few days back in the boathouse, might need a once over
Fibre glass boats: need TLC in general
Other: anyone who doesn't own a boat is welcome to come along and outfit one

As far as I can tell the key people here are Matt Flood (for fibre glass know-how + supplies), Nuala (know-how + equipment) and possibly Karen, Niall (more know-how and tools). So it appears the smartest way to go about this is figure out when you guys are free, supply you with a key and as many helping hands as are available!

Please post up when suits, whether you want to fix boats, are interested in outfitting a club boat for yourself for future rivertrips or are just up for lending a hand.

The current combination of rain (ie opportunity to paddle) timetables etc may make this a little tricky to organise, so please include anytime you're happy to come along.

Thank you!
Maryanne

Monday: after 18:00
Tuesday: after 20:00
Wednesday: after 12:00
Thursday: after 20:00
Friday: after 14:00
Saturday: after river trip
Sunday: after 12:00/river trip

But I could meet people around campus to supply keys before those times.
I'm interested in outfitting my boat, and would also lend a hand with any bigger projects.

Nuala

This week:
Friday after 12.00
Sunday: will check
Next week - Monday to Wednesday after 16:00.

This Friday afternoon? We could even start loading the trailer for Saturday if enough people show up.

Karen

I could wander down for 2 hours from 12 on friday.

Also, some key points for fibreglass repair,

  • wear old clothes
  • wear rubber, or preferably latex gloves
  • cover repairs with clingfilm
  • have a proper sissors
  • bring speakers!

Fridays mi9ght be the best for me. Mostly after 2, but i'm kinda busy at the mo so i'll confirm soon.  :)

Cool, from 12 on Friday sounds like the best bet!
This Friday (11th) might be the better option, we would have some time on Friday the 18th, but we'd be leaving for Varsities that evening, and I imagine an arduous trailer journey might not be the best thing for freshly repaired boats...

So this Friday, from 12 - Nuala and Karen (maybe Matt?) maybe a helper or two
(I'll be in lectures, but I can get a key to you if you need one)
from  2 - I'll be free too and can come along to help

After Friday we only have one week before varsities! WOOT!

Eoghan

my fridays are shit... pretty much 9 - 6 this friday... i know i know...my repairing skills will be sorely missed - looks like there'll have to e someone else there in my place getting stuck to stuff etc...

Darïna

Not sure how much help I could be but I can come along too, probably only after 2 though.

Carla!

il help at 3 if people are still there

Rachel

I can probably go for less than an hour at 12.. I have class from 1-3 and then labs so that's the only time I'm free.

Jon F
